Junior Teams
Auskick
Auskick is for boys and girls aged between 4 to 8. Auskick is designed to teach kids the basics of Australian Rules football in a fun and safe environment. Auskickers have one fun “training” session each week and then play an Auskick modified rules game against an opposition team on a Sunday.
Some boys and girls aged 7 or 8 may be eligible to play in the U9s competition depending on their ability to meet the demands of playing at that next level.
Junior Competition
The junior competition involves teams in U9s, U11s, U13s, U15s and U17 with the opportunity for girls to play in just a girls only comp should they not want to play in a mixed team.
The U9’s do not play for points and scores are not recorded or registered. Its intended to be a stepping stone between Auskick and U11’s which is the first age group that plays for competition points and has finals.

The U9’s, U11’s, U13s, U15s Girls all play in the Illawarra competition.
This includes teams from:
- Albion Park
- Kiama
- Shellharbour
- Port Kembla
- Figtree
- Wollongong
- Northern Districts
- Southern Highlands
The U15’s and U17’s boys will play in a South Coast competition made up of teams from the Illawarra and Shoalhaven Leagues.
The Shoalhaven League includes the above teams as well as teams from:
- Batemans Bay
- Bay and Basin
- Bomaderry
- Nowra
- Ulladulla

Junior Girls
U11s, U13s, U15s & U17s junior girls age groups were introduced in the Illawarra in 2018 and were a huge success. Girls 13 years and under can choose to play in a girls team, a mixed team, or both. The year they turn 14 they are no longer able to play mixed and will only be allowed to play in the girls comp.
